Toyota LandCruiser Prado
The current-generation Toyota Prado 250 launched in Australia in Q4, 2024, with the choice of either five or seven seats. The five-tier range consists of the GX, GXL, Altitude, VX and tops out with the Kakadu. Equipped with a full-time 4×4 system – and a rear diff lock on higher-spec models – the Prado is a handy off-roader that makes a comfortable lap-of-the-map tourer. As standard, all variants are powered by a 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine producing 150kW and 500Nm, which is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. One criticism of the seven-seat variant is the appalling cargo space when the third row of seats is upright.
